Gisborne Golf Club
Course Master Plan
In 2013 the Committee commissioned a review of the Gisborne Golf Course from leading Golf Architects ‘Crafter and Mogford Golf Strategies’.
The aims were:
- To obtain an independent and expert review of the current strengths and weaknesses of the Course.
- To obtain considered future development options to realise the full potential of the Course, for the enjoyment of, and challenge for, those that play it.
A number of the non-controversial recommendations flowing from the Report, such as improved drainage, tee realignment, tree removal etc. have already been acted on by the Committee. More substantial recommendations, such as Green re-refurbishment and additional bunkering, require not only costing and funding consideration, but more importantly, substantial input and support from Members before they would be implemented.
The preparation of the Report included extensive consultation with Committee members, our Superintendent and member representatives.
The Architects report has been broken into four PDF files.
