Greens renovation update – 171021

Posted on: 16 October

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to touch base and keep you up to date out on the course. Today will see us commence greens scarifying, this is simple process and aids in reducing our organic matter levels (the reason our greens are soft and spongy when wet). This process will be completed by Monday night. Greens performance will remain the same as the past two weeks.

The remainder of the week will see us working on bunkers topping up sand, spraying weeds and improving overall presentation.

We also have plenty of weeds to be sprayed out when the weather permits.

Tees overseeding has seen some very positive results, still plenty of more work to be completed. We will be over seeding these surfaces again in the coming weeks as we continue to increase density and turfgrass coverage on our teeing grounds.

Moving forward over the next few weeks we will start to ramp up our presentation of the course for the up-and-coming season. All major projects are on hold with a focus on growing in all our turf surfaces to 100% this season. Presentation and course playability is the main focus of the agronomy team for the 22-golfing season.

We are looking forward to having our Metropolitan members back shortly along with competition golf.

Regards,

Dylan
