Update from the Pro shop – Wednesday 24/7/24

Now that we are in the middle of winter, it’s time to provide you with an operational update from the pro shop, with a few changes and some plans going forward.

  • Kom Pertama has left to work with his family in their business, and we thank Kom for his efforts in his time here at Gisborne. The positive is that we already have a new team member, Elias Pashakis, who will work with us as a PGA Associate full time. Elias is already fitting in well and we certainly look forward to him being a valued member of our team, so please drop in and say hello to Elias when you are at the club next.

  • As most of you would know, the Pro Shop lost every physical asset in the fire that we used in our day to day operations. This certainly included our computer and point of sale systems. We are taking this as an opportunity to upgrade our entire point of sale system, which will enable us to provide a range of features and promotions that will enhance our services to members.

  • While pro shop account balances weren’t fully backed up right to when the fire occurred, Matt has re-established account balances for members. Pro shop accounts will again be available from Monday 29th July. If you would like to check your account balance, you can do that in the pro shop any time from 29th July onward. If you think there is any issue with your balance, please speak or get in touch with Matt directly, not one of the other staff. Matt is committed to ensuring all members retain their entitlements in the wake of the fire and is happy to discuss this with you.

  • We have some exciting things in the works at the moment in regard to coaching and club fitting, with our coaching studio build having been completed and already in use for private coaching sessions. Watch this space for new developments in coaching and club fitting technology that we will introduce throughout the rest of 2024. Something great to look forward to out of a tough situation!

Best Regards,

Matthew Duncan
