Course report and Frost Delays
Posted on: 2 August
Hi Members
Yesterday i got out for the first time in a couple of weeks to play the course. The golf course is in exceptional condition for this time of year, and considering all the works that are being done.
The fairways are remaining mostly dry, and the greens are playing as good as I have seen them.
Congratulations to Lee and his team who are presenting the course in such condition. These guys are out there first thing on the freezing mornings doing the jobs required to keep our course in the shape it is in. Make sure you show your appreciation when you see them out there.
Please be mindful that during this time of year there are potential frost delays in the mornings. The delays are put in place to preserve the course. Understand that the work in the mornings cannot be done until the frost is off the greens.
The Proshop try to let players know on the morning if frost delays are going to be in effect, but we do not have staff onsite until 6:30am.
If the forecast for Melbourne is 0, and Gisborne is -2, and you look out your window and there is frost on your grass, then there is a likely chance that there will be a delay. The message will be on the booking sheet by 7am, so if you have any doubts then call the proshop.
I hope you are all enjoying your golf.
Best Regards
